Music

Hello Everyone,

While you're at home, I hope some of you have had a go at the Charanga Yumu programme.  I'd also like to introduce you to a new music teaching on line programme that has just started - it's called 'Team Tutti' - it works more like Garageband (though not as complicated), and there are weekly music lessons that you can follow.  To get on it just 'google' Team Tutti' and you will see an introductory video and can access the lessons from there.  Unlike the Yumu programme, you don't need a log in or password.  So why not give it a go?  Let me know what you think.

Bye for now

Musical Moments!

Hello from Mrs Blandford!  Now we've been in our own homes for several weeks, I don't know about you, but I'm listening to lots of music.  I thought this would be a good opportunity to introduce you to some of my favourite pieces.  So I thought I'd open a section on the website called 'Musical Moments'.  I'll add a new piece each week.

The first piece is called 'Spiegel im Spiegel' by Arvo Part.  This piece was written in 1978 while the composer lived in Estonia.  It lasts for nearly 10 minutes and is played by just 2 instruments  - the piano and the violin.  You can find it on YouTube by typing in 'Spiegel im Spiegel Nicola Benedetti'.  Nicola Benedetti is a young British violinist - she is brilliant! If you have an 'Alexa' device you can just say 'Alexa play Spiegel im Spiegel' and it will play the whole piece with Nicola Benedetti.

You might find this piece rather unusual.  I suggest that you find somewhere comfy and quiet, wrap up in a quilt and listen to it!  Let me know what you think.  (Remember - it's ok not to like it!).  Why not share some of your favourite pieces of music?  You could add them to the Let's share bit of your class or email me.
